This one hour program is for dog owners, non-dog owners, parents, and family members.
This program is NOT geared for children.  Please do not bring children to the presentation.

The objective of the program is to give adults valuable information about how to keep
children  safe around dogs.  Even if you do not own a dog, you will benefit from this
presentation.  Dogs are everywhere - in your neighborhood, on the street, in parks, in the
homes of friends and relatives, and even day care providers.

Children are bitten most often and usually by either the family pet or a friend's dog.

Calls from owners whose dogs have bitten someone are heartbreaking for me to get.  Many
bites could have been prevented if the owners recognized the signs that trouble was
brewing. However, not everyone recognizes the danger signs until the problem has
escalated to a bite.  Children are most often bitten.

Breeds I have gotten calls about include Labs, Goldens, mixed breeds, small breeds - all
types of dogs.  Yes, Labs and Goldens.  Any dog can bite; they are animals.

If you, a family member, or a friend have a dog that: growls, snaps or curls her lip at anyone,
guards her food bowl, toys or bones, or furniture  go to the Dog Bite Information.    Download
the article at the top of that page for more information about danger signs and what to do.
Read the articles about children attacked by dogs.  The articles are graphic, but are the
reality of children and dogs who are unsupervised and untrained (the dog, the child, and the
    adults).

Bites and tragedies can be prevented.
Learn more about why dogs bite, what the warning signs are,
why children are most often bitten, and steps you can take to keep your family safe.
