Secret Lake Dog Training, LLC
offers a class to help you prepare to take
the AKC's Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) Program Test and
gives the test at the last class.
Class runs one hour a week for 5 weeks with the test being
given on Week 5. Cost for the class is $150. When you pass
the test, you will need to send in $5 to the AKC to get your
certificate. Collar tags like the one above can be purchased for
$6 through the AKC program also.
Covered in class will be the items on the test so please read
the details about the test.
Your dog cannot wear a head halter, harness or prong collar.
Dog may wear a buckle collar or slip collar of nylon, leather or
chain. I recommend that you take your dog through a Basic
Training Course before taking the Canine Good Citizen Class.
Two of my dogs, Mattie and Sienna earned their Canine Good
Citizen! My dog Jesse who died in 2001 also earned a Canine
Good Citizen.
