Classes Taken = Elementary School, Recall Class, and Fun on Obstacles Handouts = Very Helpful I'm still referring to them almost a year later. I learned how to be a dog owner through Karen's guidance. Outside of the classroom she was always available by email. She is dedicated and wants the best for the dog. She always make it fun for the dogs and owners and somehow is able to keep her eye on everyone! Topic not covered = No How satisfied were you with the class overall? = Very Satisfied Content of class = I am a new dog owner and adopted a rescue German Shepherd mix. He had his issues (fear aggression)plus I had no idea what was normal behavior. Karen was my lifeline, encouraged me and Cody. If it were not for her support and encouragement I think I would have a different ending to my story. Now I have this beautiful, happy dog, not issue free, but he's made enormous strides. I've just recommended Karen to a friend of mine with a new Jack Russell puppy for puppy kindergarten Judy - 2009
What class(es) did you attend? = Elementary School Were the training booklet and class handouts helpful tools for you? = Helpful Was the instructor helpful and responsive to your needs and questions? = Yes Satisfaction? = I thought it was great. It was really good for Sassy to do all the leash work....also great to do the greeting and having your puppy respond properly. I thought it also very helpful to see the other dogs, sometimes doing great and sometimes not....makes you feel better about your own dog not acting correctly all the time! I liked the gentleness handling the dogs and your methods. What class(es) did you attend? = Kindergarten Were the training booklet and class handouts helpful tools for you? Very Helpful Handouts = The written material is invaluable. Distractions caused by the puppies often caused me to miss fine points as you explained them in class. Many of the info I missed was contained in the handouts. They also serve as great "refreshers" for me. Was the instructor helpful and responsive to your needs and questions? = Yes Satisfaction? = Extremely satisfied! I feel like my Golden Retriever puppy, Jake, got a very good foundation of basic obedience as well as some important socialization. Karen explains things very well, and I appreciate her sincerity, personalized attention and concern for the overall well being of all the dogs. The only minor negative I can think of is that the classroom seemed a little cramped for some activities*, such as walking and recall. Then again, it's a very nice facility and a great location. I look forward to continuing to improve our obedience skills in Elementary School!
