Nose Play

About the Class

Dogs have a phenomenal sense of smell.  In this class we are going to
channel that skill and your dog's love of play into a activity you and
your dog will enjoy.   In this class, you are going to teach your dog to
use his nose to find commonly lost items.  There is no guarantee that
your dog will always find your lost wallet, but you
will find a fun activity
to enjoy with your dog.

The class is based on scent detection training that is used in search
and rescue, drug and bomb detection.  I developed this class
drawing on my experience as a search and rescue dog handler.

My dog Sienna was trained to find lost people, deceased people and
articles.  Working with her in search was both incredibly rewarding.
She taught me a lot as we both learned how to find people and
articles they left behind.  Sienna and I developed a great working
relationship and bond through this training.

This class offers so many benefits for you and your dog.  In addition to
deepening your bond and ability to work as a team, the game will
challenge your dog both physically and mentally.  Nose play is a
great way to develop focus in your dog and to have a happy and
tired dog.  My dog Sienna loved the search game.  She grew up to be
a real thinking dog who loved it when I continued to challenge her
scenting abilities.
