Dogs must be people- and dog-friendly to attend group classes. Dogs that have bitten people or other animals are not suitable for a group class. If your dog has bitten ANY person, dog or animal, DO NOT enroll in a group class. If you are not sure if a group class is suitable, talk to me first. I may need to meet your dog before you sign up for a class. If I need to remove your dog from class due to aggressive behavior on or off the premises, the balance of your fee may be applied to private obedience sessions or a Behavior Consultation at my discretion. I reserve the right to refuse to work with any dog. Group Class Training Agreement A copy of our Group Class Training Agreement can be viewed and printed here. Group Class Agreement. A signed agreement is required to attend classes.

As a trainer trying to balance dog training and running a family- friendly training center, I have rules about children in the training center and participating in class. My policy is that a child must be at least 12 years old to handle a dog during class. My classes are for adults and are taught at a level that is challenging for adults - and usually move too quickly for children. Children 12 and older may participate with my permission. If I deem necessary, I will ask the adult to take over.
highly recommended that you leave children under the age of 12 at home. If you bring children, your children must be capable of sitting quietly in a chair on the sidelines and out of the training ring. Children must sit in the chairs behind the barriers, stay out of the training ring, and remain seated and quiet during class. Children must stay off the dog obstacles such as the see saw, jumps, and boards. This policy is for several reasons including:
If your child does not follow the rules, you need to take charge of your child. If your child persists in not following the rules and being disruptive, I will ask you to leave. No make up sessions or refunds are given if you must leave because of your child. I highly recommend that parents buy and read the book “Living with Kids and Dogs" by Colleen Pelar. |
