Henri was found wandering down a
busy street in East Haven. No one
ever came to the shelter and
claimed him. I fostered Henri until
a wonderful person named Nancy
adopted him.
Henri lived happly with other small
senior dogs until he died this
summer of 2006.
I adopted Tai when he was
12 years old. He had been
tied to an old car on a 6 foot
chain and could not walk.
Tai was dignified, majestic,
and loving. He lived to be 18
years old and died in my
arms.
Roscoe came to me when he was 10
years old. He came from a severe
abuse and neglect situation. He had
been tied on a 6 foot chain and
beaten in the head with a board.
His nails had grown so long, they
curled into his pads.
He was stubborn and grouchy, but
he made me smile and laugh. At
the age of 12, the little guy’s heart
gave out.
Fluffy was about 12 years old when
I inherited her from my friend
Sandy who died. Fluffy was quiet
and sweet. It was nice to not go
through the growing up stages of
an active kitten.
Older cats get passed over.
Everyone wants a kitten. A kitten
isn’t a kitten for long – it becomes a
cat. Then many of them are left in
shelters while people pass them by.
Consider giving an adult shelter dog or cat a forever home.
