How would you like to be 85 years old, with bad feet and teeth, difficulty walking, and one day your family says "Sorry, you're not worth the effort. Let's go for a ride..."
Tinker was a darling old girl, left to die in a snow bank on a cold day in March 2004. She was named in honor of one of our shelter friend's very first Sheltie. We'll never know of Tinker's past life and history. We'll never know if Tinker was once a beloved companion or the property of a backyard breeder who no longer had any use for her. What we do know is a special person took Tinker into her heart and home and gave her love and kindness for the rest of her life.
When Tinker's mom Karen took her in she knew Tinker was old. And despite her best hopes she knew Tinker didn't have much time left.. All that mattered to Karen was that Tinker deserved more. Tinker was a little sweetheart who enjoyed watching life go on around her. She enjoyed her slow walks and she loved her canine siblings. Most of all she loved Karen, and Karen loved her.
