At Secret Lake Dog Training, LLC, we offer you fun and positive training classes that
are designed for the family dog and puppy.  Dogs of any age can learn!

    When to Start Training

  • Start training your puppy the day you take her home!  Take your puppy to a class
starting at 10 12 weeks old.   Do not wait until your puppy is 6 months old to start
formal training.    If you are getting a puppy, check out local class schedules BEFORE
you get your puppy and sign your puppy up for a class.

  • Dogs of any age can learn - your adult dog is not too old to learn.  Sign your adult dog
up for a class and work on better manners, and have fun.

  • If you adopt a dog, enroll in a class so you can learn how to teach your dog what you
want from him or her right from the start.

  • If you have a dog or puppy who is growling at people, fearful or guarding his stuff, call
a trainer right away.  Problems do not go away unless you take action.  Many people
think they are doing the right thing about such issues when in fact, they are
inadvertently making the situation worse.  Call for help before it is too late.

My goal is to help you teach your puppy or dog how to be a good family member and canine
citizen.  If you are looking for fun training for your family dog, then you have found it here.

As the owner and instructor, I share with you my years of experience with my dogs, clients'
dogs, and shelter dogs.  I graduated CT K-9's Professional Trainer School at the top of my
class in 1994 and have been working with dogs ever since. My dog Sienna was a certified
    search and rescue dog; Jesse, Sienna and Mattie earned AKC Canine Good Citizen awards;
and I have experience working with shelter dogs.

My expertise, experience and passion lies in working with people who want a well-
    mannered family dog.
